The all new Lincoln MKT delivers the goods. It is everything someone would want in an CV. The MKT was first unveiled at the North American Auto Show in Detroit. It surpasses people’s expectation of style, comfort, and performance. This crossover vehicle is one of many new vehicles to hit Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury showrooms. Lincoln has hit a home run with this one. Attractive Style The Lincoln MKT uses the Flex’s platform, both vehicles have a different style that peaks the curiosity of buyers. The signature split wing grille of the Lincoln Brand stands bold and proud. The zero off-set bumpers really bring class to the CV like no other. It does meet safety ratings without any of the bumpers sticking out. That gives the vehicle a clean look. The headlamps provide light as well as function. While being high intensity, they are also adaptive, meaning they can swivel around curves as well as having auto head beams that can determine if the oncoming lights are non-automotive. The MKT follows the rest of new vehicles coming from Ford by not having any gas caps. No more « check engine light » for not tightening the cap. Smart thinking. Dressed for Success As you sit down inside the MKT you find yourself feeling like a million bucks. The instrustment cluster illuminates a cool LED white along with ambient lights in the cabin that can change different colors to suit the mood. The heated and cooled premium leather seats are top of the line. The interior has as two accent packages. You can go with the traditional wood accents or the woven metal appearance package that changes the wood inserts to a woven metallic look and the steering wheel from a wood insert to leather. Lincoln has really done their homework with the interior on the MKT. Tech Savvy A few features have been around in the last couple of years with Ford like the joint venture with Microsoft in developing Sync. Sync is on it’s fourth generation and as really seen some great improvements in it’s efficiency. Another ground breaking technology it the Ecoboost engine. It is a direct injected turbocharged six cylinder that produces horsepower like an eight cylinder. Ford calls this the New Math. The Ecoboost has 355 horsepower and 350 foot pounds of torque. This engine not only gives more power but it also uses less emissions, that brings out the best in both worlds. For driver convenience the MKT offers intelligent access with push start and rain sensing windshield wipers. One of the features that most luxury vehicles have is some sort of parking assist. The difference between the others and Ford’s is that this one works with less effort. Anytime a vehicle makes a debut in the luxury market it better bring it’s A game. The MKT has done this along with some game changing technology. Most people will have to get used to the outside but once inside will find themselves in a different world. With a price tag in the mid forties fairly well equipped and upper forties for Ecoboost AWD Lincoln puts itself just below the Cadillac and Mercedes competition. They do this without losing hard adds. The MKT is something to look at and should have already hit showroom floors.
